Football Predictions Week 10 Results Sheet

Morning folks

So last weekend saw the next round of World Cup qualifiers take place and as always, England made hard work of it.

I was one of the unlucky ones that actually sat and watched the game, which turned out to be just another reminder of why England will never, ever win anything. Malta came out of the game with some credibility – a nation with just 2 professional footballers held England for an entire second half. Big Sam isn’t the only laughing stock at the moment, it extends to anybody wearing those ‘illustrious’ 3 lions on their chest too –Anyway, enough of that disappointment – I’ve plenty more to come this weekend as Everton take on City at The Etihad…

Atleast Scotland didn’t win, they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Lithuania , whilst Northern Ireland handed San Marino a thumping in Group C, running out 4-0 winners at Windsor Park. Republic of Ireland beat Moldova 3-1 to keep their hopes of qualifying alive, as did most of the favourites who all seemed to come through the weekend unscathed, perhaps the Welsh drawing with bogey team Georgia (apparently they’ve never beaten them!?) was the only ‘shock’ –if you can call it that.

And with all the favourites winning, it meant last weekend in the Football Predictions was another high scoring week..

Starting with the Premier League, there was 3 winners with an impressive score of 15 points each! Congrats go to Alan Kettlewell, Chris Cole & Mark Golden! And that was the highest score achieved across all 4 divisions too!

And with that win, Mark Golden leapfrogs Jonny Gleave into top spot! AK goes third on 86 points with Chris Cole {where did he come from!?} up a mahoosive 6 places into fourth. Reigning champ Jonny Birch stays fifth, just ahead of Steph on goal difference and Greg by a point. Snell appears to be too busy sunning himself on his jollies to even care about the predictions last weekend and it certainly showed, falling quicker than a fat boy on a diving board. He’s gone from top 2.. to outside the Champions League places in just 48 hours. Best have another Strawberry dakori to forget about it and take the edge off.

In the Championship there was another 3 winners last weekend, Congrats go to Mark Robbo, Sam Myall and forgotten man Danny Bradders MCFC OK –hopefully not on Staurday. Your shared score of 14 took a share of the pot. Marks win, means he retains his place at the summit of the league table, 3 points clear of Tracey in second place. Max stays third a point ahead of Pete, as Sam climbs 2 places into the top five. Even Tommy Pickles had a decent week climbing 3 places and into the playoffs, he’s joined by Katy who just did enough to hang onto her play in the top seven.

In  League one, just the one single winner and he’s got a thirst for victory, his second win consecutive weeks! Take a bow Andy Bentley –your score of 14 was enough to take the entire pot and claim you a place in the top 3! Another decent score this weekend and who knows – you might even catch up to runaway leader Stuart Gunn..

Elsewhere in the division, Talbot stays second, as Martin Spencely drops out of the automatic promotional places for the first time since.. well, …I can remember. He’s been a model of consistency since the start of the season, Luke Robbo won’t mind – he sits quietly binding his time, ready to pounce. Steve Moseley sits comfortably in fifth, just ahead of Jeff Smith and Kai Riley, Jimbo follows in eighth place.

Over to the PNG and they’ve responded in the best way possible.. After having a bad couple of weeks, and both getting abit of jip from me (and I’m sure the rest of the guys) both Eric & Lucky have pulled it out the bag and produced a fine score of 14 points each! That score send Eric into third place on goal difference at the expense of Carlos, but at the top its neck and neck! Richie Clarke & Bill Lowrie can’t be separated! Both stand on a combined total of 89 points each!

And so for this weekend, normality resumes. We have proper fixtures – the good stuff is back.

The games are now available on the web, please make sure you get your predictions submitted before the 12.30 deadline Saturday! Good Luck and COYB!!!
