Football Predictions Week 6 & Week 7 Results

Good Afternoon Guys!

Apologies once again for the delay in getting the results emailed around – judging from some of the emails received it’s seriously affected and almost ruined lives so I can only apologies whole heartedly for the anxiety and sleepless nights it’s caused. Greg has assured me everything is now tip top and has confirmed nothing will ever fail again. Ever.

Week 7 started in the worst possible way on the Friday night as Liverpool travelled down to Stamford Bridge, and somehow came home with all 3 points.

Jordan Henderson could attempt that shot 100 times over and it wouldn’t hit the back of the net… unfortunately it did, cue pandemonium in the red end and JordanLad now appears to have been dubbed ‘The White Yaya Toure’ or ‘Jordiniho’… {embarrassing init}

In Saturdays fixtures, Arsenal beat Hull City 4-1 away at the KCOM Stadium, and it could have been even worse for the tigers had Alexis Sanchez not seen his penalty saved. Reigning Champs Leicester got back to winning ways with a 3-0 thumping of newly promoted Burnley, whilst Man City also ran riot against a Bournemouth side who Pep described as being ‘the best footballing side we’ve played this season…’ –surely not a dig at Jose there…

In the late kick off, Everton took on Boro at Goodison Park and despite an early set back… {and in your best Brian Blessed voice} the blue knights were victorious. Sir Gareth, as strong as an Ox in the heart of midfield, Gana brave and fearless, and with Bolasie, showcasing pure wizardry out on the wing, it wasn’t long before the blues cut through the red and white defence not once… not twice… but three times, to slay Aitor Karanka’s men 3-1 at fortress Goodison. Marvelous stuff. Special mention to Gaz Baz who made his 600th premier league appearance last weekend and found himself on the scoresheet too. #AreYouWatchingEric

Sunday saw a number of Premier League games take place, started with the Hornets against a hurting Man Utd side, in the lunchtime kick off. ‘We will not lose 3 games in a row’ the promise from Jose Mourinho after Thursdays Euro League defeat at Feyenoord. Well they did, and in spectacular fashion too going down 3-1 at Vicarage Road. Troy Deeney capped off another impressive performance with a last minute goal from the spot –surely Jose won’t lose 4?

In the Championship, the wheels came off at St James’ Park as high flying Newcastle came unstuck against Wolves losing 2-0 to Walter Zenga’s men. Leeds appear to have hit some form and beat Cardiff City, whilst Brighton also came home with the 3 points after hitting an 88th minute winner. It’ll be a weekend to forget for Mark Golden as his Preston side were battered by Brentford, 5-0 what on earth happened there!?

In the Predictions and starting with the Premier League – and there was SIX winners in week 7! Congratulations go to Alan Kettlebell, Carl Riley, Chris Cole, Dan Wright, Wolfie & Stewart who all scored 12 points each. You might have enough for a box of matches and some boot laces.

In the Championship just the one winner and it’s been a while since he found himself on winners row, known by some as Mr Predictions himself, take a bow Paul Clarke! You’re score of 13 deservedly took the pot as it was also our best score in week 7! Very well done sir wherever you may be in the world right now {probably on a jet ski, whilst sipping sangria on his way to a bull fight} that’s the sort of life Clarkey leads.. Luke & Dave Royle just missed out on 12 points each.

League One and there was another single winner, his first ever in the Predictions! Congrats go to Harry Atkinson who just managed to pip Steve Moseley to take the pot, with a score of 12 points – well done kidda!

Over to PNG and the dragon has woken. Tommy Taff is back to winning ways, he shared the spoils with Richie Clarke who is tearing up the Predictions so far this season – a score of 11 was enough to be crown the winner of week 7.

That weekend also saw a number of replays take place in the Predictions Cup.. results are as follows;

Louie Davies 10 vs Tommy Taff 11

Ellie Bennett 10 vs Robin Gentle 8

Mark Morgan 6 vs Pete Louth 8

John Battle 10 vs Richie Clarke 11

Anthony Woodhouse 5 vs Mark Robinson 10

Trazza Gleave 11 vs Tom Pickles 8

Daddybear 9 vs Talbotini 9 – ANOTHER REPLAY

Over to week 7 now, and we don’t need to recap the weekend results, the email is already long enough {it’s nothing to do with the fact Everton lost}

In the Premier League, 2 winners last weekend shared the pot with an impressive score of 13 points each – Congratulations to Captain Birch, our reigning champ and Lilywhites fan Mark Golden! A whole host of you came in as runners up, Steph, Emma Stephens, Chris Cole, Riley & Alan all close behind on 11…

After soaring like an eagle since the opening day of the season, it was back to reality for Andy Graham who fell outside of the Champions League places for the first time this year.. Jonny Birch was our big climber, up a staggering 10 places into sixth but its still so close throughout the whole division! Just 7 places separate 3rd place with the relegation zone!! Its mental!! If 16th place Nick Royle can get the better of Ben Wilmott this weekend he could find himself in those elusive Champions League places. Crazy.

In the Championship, there was just the one winner last weekend – Congratulations went to Pete Louth who’s score of 12 took the cash and a place in the top 5!! It could be your year mate!” At the top, Tracey has pipped Mark Robbo if only on goal difference to take top spot, Max climbs to third at the expense of Robin, Clarkey does enough to stay in the playoffs unlike Katy who falls to ninth.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom in the Riley household last weekend though. In League One, Kai Riley was proudly flying the flag with an impressive, but more importantly a winning score of 13 points! But alas, he was not alone. Talbotini joins him on winners row having matched Kai’s score of 13 points points! Well done guys!

But despite Talbot’s win, it wasn’t enough to topple ‘The Gunn’ as Stuart stays top of the division with a 3 point lead over Martin Spencely. A big week is needed for Adam, Drew, Mark Morgan & me old’dear if there to climb outside of the relegation zone..

In the PNG League, another impressive performance by Richie Clarke who’s been so consistant this season, but his score of 10 points just fell short on taking the braggin’ rights last weekend. Cue Bill Lowrie to step up to secure the win with 11 points but more importantly he’s back on top spot! Richie stays second as John Battle falls to third. A good week for Big Carlos see’s him climb 3 places but what’s going on with Eric? He appears to have hit reverse, he’s now in sixth place!? I don’t think Eric has ever fallen outside of the top 3 since the league formed?

Last weekend saw just the one replay in the Cup and I’m absolutely DELIGHTED to confirm the result as follows;

Talbotini 13 Vs Daddybear Kettlwell 8 – A complete mauling. It’s like looking at the Old Firm result again.

Don’t forget to get your submissions in before the 12.30 deadline Saturday

Good Luck!
